We roughly had 9 weeks for this project and this was quite an amount of time that was given to us, at first I did stick to my schedule and did each task on time but as it came to creative and building itself, like the each individual models and textures etc.. I took so much more of my time on that and as I looked at the schedule again I know I had to improve the schedule and change things as I go along the way.
This was my initial time table that I gave myself and I thought that I gave myself quite a lot of time from that, but it took much more longer that I thought it would be.
This was my last timetable, as you can see that I went over the deadline of the schedule and had to extend the deadline due to not completing some objectives, I need add more time to my environment build because I had to complete the build of my objects, textures and rendered and upload the video overall.
I should have double check and re-think about the time I had and used it more efficiently so next time I would have this problem on rushing things and getting everything rushed and not to a good standard, my next project time management will be a priority and hopefully that I will not have any sort of problems, I've also had some time off with the process of making the 3d environment level, with the christmas break, so I didn't manage to work on creating the environment. instead made some adjustments on the blog instead by adding more details like sorting out the schedule, generation ideas and the design pack.
Research & Ideas
When it came to doing some internet research and finding ideas for the build that I'm going for it was quite straight forward and easy considering some images gave me ideas on the objects to make and the textures it will require and suit well with. I found some plenty of imagery online and this made the task quite quick and simple. Since I chose the fantasy genre I built a 3d modern house with the objects being non-scale so some objects will be small, huge or could be strange looking yet fit quite well with the environment. I started getting some furniture imagery to give me an idea to work on and just looking at different variations of objects like beds, sofa, chairs, desk, etc.
Design Pack
I thought that the design pack was quite easy in my opinion due to the furniture's and objects being non-scale it made it quite easy for me because on how I can create an object in the 3d environment with any scale, due to it being fantasy I made the furniture's of my house more modern yet have that large and small sizes between each furniture's, also within my design pack I've also uploaded some images on what I think I might add for my 3d environment. Overall once I was happy with all the objects that I've made I started to add textures and gave them looks to it by adding different types of materials used. I simply used UV maps which gave me the option to apply these textures which was found in imagery and sourced evidence on the textures I got them from.
Prototype & Flythrough Build
I made my environment build in lightwave layout, I started off navigating the camera and knowing how it works again due to long process on not accessing lightwave for a while, once I got the hang of that it was pretty much a straight forward thing on guiding the camera and making sure you view and show off your environment, I manage to finish view every single room of my 3d house and ended up with 500 frames overall, I rendered and exported these as photoshop individual images and will place them together in adobe premiere where I can start off with my video editing on showing a video example on my 3d environment level.
Presentation
My overall final presentation is a completed and fully rendered individual scenes of the video render which is available and accessible in youtube. The rendering took quite some time and which finished the next day, roughly around 2-3 hours it took to rendered, as it collected and gathered 450 frames of imagery I manage to render them out as a photoshop document, I then placed all of these files into adobe premiere and I got the image to combine together which aloud me to make a video to edit on by making it smooth and sleek, which I then topped off by adding music to have an atmosphere in the background whilst the camera navigates around the environment and finished it as I uploaded and put up on youtube.
